It’s already September, and we can’t wait to show you everything we’ve got in store!
From an exciting Murder Mystery (in Dutch) where you get to play detective yourself, to our fantastic September program filled with both new and familiar talent.
We’re especially thrilled that English-speaking cabaret talent Diederik Zuurmond will be performing at Scala starting this month. His charming humor is a clever mix of the profound and the lighthearted, with plenty of self-mockery along the way.
In addition to Diederik, we have 5(!) other English-language shows lined up this month. You can catch them every Thursday and Friday at Scala.

With government funding for the cultural sector on the decline, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for newly graduated theater makers to develop their craft. Scala already offers them a stage, but we also want to provide extra support through a coaching program in cultural entrepreneurship.

Work at Scala – Join Our Team!
Starting in SEPTEMBER, we’re looking for new members to join our hospitality team!
Do you have hospitality experience and the ability to think on your feet? Are you welcoming by nature and enjoy pampering our guests? Do you understand Scala’s atmosphere and mission? We’d love to meet you.
The varied and diverse tasks include welcoming guests, working behind the bar and serving tables, ticket control and sales, as well as various kitchen duties.
Our current evening team mostly consists of students and performing artists who work at Scala “in between” their (theatre) projects, but of course, you’re welcome to apply with a different background. You can share your availability in advance, and you’ll only be scheduled when you’re able to work. Your start date is negotiable, and you’ll be available for at least one shift per week, including a Friday or Saturday evening.
